I've stayed in this unit 2 times before. On my first day of arrival, I returned to my condo with a man upstairs working on the air conditioner (no one informed me of this) Kinda a scared us at first.
On the day of departure, a plumber came to the door and asked to do work. We told him we'd be out for sure by 11 am. Went for a small walk and return to our condo approx 9:30 to discover plumber in our condo, toleit pulled and working away. Of course, they could of easily realized we were still in unit, all of our belonging were still out. Not cool at all.
Also, The upstair blind could easily be cleaned. Mold on sills and blinds
My rating would of been excellent except for things listed above

Finding this unit at night in the rain took 2 hours and the help of the nearby hotel staff. Sullivan did not answer their phones to guide us. The view of the water and golf course is great. The master bath and closet size shower downstairs were poor. Both bath areas had undergone a poor quality make over. Dragging suit cases 17 steps down hill to the front door and then back upstairs to the upstairs master was exhausting and dangerous in the rain. So we unpacked in the living room and lived upstairs.
The Hawaiian style glass window shutters did not close and were wired into place. The internet connection did not work and Sullivan told us to call Comcast. We did not want to spend vacation time waiting on the cable guy.
This unit needs some maintenance attention and finishing the makeover in the bathrooms.
The kitchen and bed were nice.

Nice Property-Need Updating

We have probably stayed at Kapalua Bay Villas at least 15 times, so know the property quite well. 30G1 has a good, but not great, view of the ocean from the 1st floor and an excellent view from the 2nd floor bedroom. Pros: 1. it is a two floor unit, so that the bedroom has an ocean view (most, if not all, one bedroom bay villas on one floor do not have an ocean view from the bedroom. 2.There is a powder room with small shower on the first floor, so the unit is 1 and one-half baths plus. 3. The unit is spacious, particularly for one couple.
Cons: 1.The unit is on the Kapalua walking trail, so from early morning to dusk, privacy is impeded, particularly in the bedroom. 2. No wireless; have to rely on an old fashioned modem (I had to purchase a connector for my Imac Pro) or bring your own router (this is the 21st century). 2. Some burners on the stove didn't work. 3. The bathroom tub is an old jacuzzi with a portable shower head mounted on the wall. It is a tough and potentially dangerous climb in and out of the shower. 4. A number of the window slats don't function properly (i.e.: fully open and close. 5. The sliding glass door doesn't have a lock; the "lock" is a section of PVC pipe that you wedge in the door.
Overall: a nice property for a reasonable price, but sure could use some tender loving care.

This facility was highly recommended by friends who have stayed in this unit & several other units on the grounds. Because of the way the condo is situated it's very private. It is an end unit with a lava rock wall running along the outside living space. Unit faces more north than west so the sunsets aren't quite as visible as I would have liked. When approaching the unit you need to go down a full flight of stairs so if you are disabled this wouldn't be for you. The main living area on the 1st floor = living room, kitchen, dining area & small full bath with very small shower. Large Bedroom w/kingsize bed & large full bath with laundry facilities on 2nd floor. You need to step down into large 2 person jacuzzi tub in order to take a shower. Didn't care for that much, afraid of slipping. Large windows looking out to ocean very dirty due to salt spray...that's how close you are to ocean. Requested someone to come wash or at least spray them but were refused. Had incident with the washing machine. 1st week...loaded washer & filled w/water. Wouldn't drain. Called numerous times & had to wait 30+ hrs for it to get fixed as our clothes soaked in dirty water. One of the many times I called about it the excuse I heard was "well, you are on an island after all" which kind of annoyed us because this is a business & I would think you would do anything expediantly to satisfy your guests. Just glad I hadn't waited until the end of our trip to do laundry! Some of the windows (small, below picture windows) were hard to crank open as the latches were broken off. I know the metal corrodes due to the salt in the air so this can't be helped. But I would think they could be fixed or replaced. I would stay at this facility again but think I would try a different unit. Would like one that faces a little more west to enjoy the beautiful sunsets Maui has to offer. All in all we had a wonderful trip/stay. Didn't let the few issues ruin our vacation. After all...we were in Paridise!!!
