Why Maui in the Winter?

Why Maui in the Winter?

Guests come from around the world to see our magnificent Humpback Whales from the Icy waters of Alaska.  They are our part time residents to Hawaii for our warm and shallow waters. Once the weather in Alaska starts cooling down they are on their way to see us and for us to watch them. It’s a very long journey for the Mom’s to be and the Dads, 3500 miles away they start the long travel through the open pacific for approx. 6-8 weeks at speeds around 3-5 miles per hour basically non-stop, but they do arrive. They are believed not to eat when they arrive as they are here to mate and give birth. Some do stray away and go to Mexico and other islands of the Pacific but the majority of the humpbacks prefer HAWAII in the Winter. What’s not to like for them?  Visit our partner “thesnorkelstore.com” to book a fantastic whale adventure. You will not be disappointed!

Read all about our weather here Hawaii’s Weather Information This will give you some great information on all islands!  Winter in Hawaii is paradise while everyone else is cold…….we are sitting in the warm sun watching our friends frolic in the Pacific Waters. Now you see Why Maui in the Winter!
